My Darling Nell,

Daddy is far away and can’t send you a Christmas Card.  But please keep this in mind, I am always thinking of you and mother.  The war will end soon and I’ll be back to take care of you and mother, until then be good, and may God bless you all for a happy Christmas.  Please do your best, next year we will all be together again.
